The name Indian Women Abroad is self-explanatory when it comes to its purpose. It tells the stories of, well, Indian women abroad.
The idea for this project blossomed from a string of conversations between founder Mrinaal Datt and women from the Indian diaspora at an event in Melbourne, Australia.
I realised so many women have such incredible stories of grit and perseverance to share. Surely someone would be talking about them? But when I went online, I came up nought. And you know what they say about change…
– Mrinaal Datt, founder of Indian Women Abroad

A safe space for women to freely express themselves and share who they are with the rest of the world.
Do you often feel like there is no space that specifically caters to a woman like you? A cosmopolitan yet rooted to traditions female who is constantly in a battle to find her identity and her tribe?
Finding your tribe as an Indian woman abroad can be a challenge. From the way we are raised, to the way we think – it greatly differs from the rest of the world which can often make you feel alone. But guess what? You aren’t.
At Indian Women Abroad our aim is to start conversations about topics we often only talk about with our selves. Maybe there’s someone else out there who is thinking the same thoughts you are. It is our hope you find that here.

Never miss an update.
